Press Start: Irritating Stick

Irritating Stick is one of those games that almost nobody likes but me, which I’ve been fine with since the late 1990s.

The concept is simple: Move your wand through a maze while being careful not to touch anything. Of course, it’s not that easy, since the game throws obstacles and distractions at you… along with a time limit that never lets up.

Look out for the edge!

I tried this while working at FuncoLand in West Springfield, MA in early 1999 and it’s stuck with me since. I often used to pop the game into a demo unit just to let other people try… and hope someone else enjoys it like I do.

Now we’re more than 25 years later, and my enjoyment of Irritating Stick hasn’t let up. Maybe it’s Mr. Robot that draws me in. No… not the TV character. Maybe you can try it yourself and see.
